Seattle Cherry Blossom Mini-Sessions
These mini sessions are for families and expecting parents who want spring photos that feel natural and connection-focused. I’ll guide you the whole time, keep things simple, and help you get a good mix of images without making it complicated.
Washington Park Arboretum is also an easy meet-up spot for Seattle and Eastside families, and it photographs beautifully in bloom.
Cherry blossom season is brief, so these sessions are offered only during the short spring bloom window.

Planning Your Session
Great question! Here is an overview of the entire process and what you can expect from working with me:
- Booking: Review what’s included, pricing, add-ons, and examples on this page. If you still have questions, I’m happy to help. Choose your date/time online, fill out a short form, and pay the $100 deposit to reserve your spot.
- Session Prep: After I receive your booking, I will review it and send you a detailed prep guide within 1–2 business days. I am also available to answer any questions via email or text.
- A Few Days Before the Session: I will monitor the weather a day or so before your session. If we need to reschedule due to rain, I will communicate all the details. I will also email you specific location information and coordinates for finding me in the park. Finally, you will receive an invoice for the remaining balance of your session.
- The Day of the Session: We meet at the designated location for a guided mini-session. I’ll cue you so you always know what to do.
- After the Session: You will receive your proof gallery within four days to choose the images you want hand-edited. Please reply with your picks within seven days to keep your place in my editing queue. After I receive your picks, I will deliver the final hand-edited photos within seven days.
Most maternity sessions are photographed around 28–32 weeks, but the right timing depends on how you’re feeling and how your pregnancy is progressing.
Cherry Blossom Sessions are available only during a short spring window, so maternity timing does not always line up with the season. If it works well for your pregnancy, it can be a beautiful option.
I recommend booking in advance when possible so you have time to prepare and can choose from the appointments that are still available.
I keep a close eye on the forecast as your session approaches. Because Seattle weather can change quickly, the final decision may wait until the morning of your session.
If rain or other weather conditions prevent the session from going forward, I’ll work with you to find another suitable date. If we cannot find a replacement date that works, your deposit will be refunded.
Cloudy skies and normal changes in the timing or amount of the cherry blossoms are not reasons by themselves to reschedule.
After you book, I will email you detailed prep information, including outfit inspiration and access to an online styling service. Soft, coordinated tones usually photograph beautifully in the Arboretum during spring.
You are also welcome to email or text me if you want help narrowing things down.
I do not provide a client wardrobe at this time. After you book, I will send recommendations for where to rent or purchase gowns and dresses that photograph well.
The Mini Session includes 10 hand-edited images. The Deluxe Session includes 25 hand-edited images.
After you see your proof gallery, you can purchase additional hand-edited photos for $20 each. A full gallery upgrade is also available for $200. It includes all the images in your proof gallery with a standard color edit, as they appear in the gallery.
Color edit includes an overall color adjustment to make the photos appear brighter, more balanced, and properly exposed. Hand-editing includes those color adjustments plus additional refinements such as basic skin smoothing, blemish removal, and a few flyaway corrections. It gives the final image a more finished look.
That is a very normal concern. I keep the session moving, follow your child’s lead, and use simple prompts and plenty of little tricks to help keep kids engaged and interested. Most of the time, that gives us plenty of photos you will be happy with. And if your child is having a harder day, we will still work together and do our best with where they are.
Yes. If you would like to bring a pet, please let me know at booking so I can help the session flow smoothly. We usually begin with a few images that include your pet, then continue without them. Please bring a leash and have a plan for your pet once their part of the session is finished.
You will receive your online proof gallery within four days of your session. Once you send me your favorites, your final hand-edited images will be emailed within one week.
Yes. You will not be left wondering where to stand, where to look, or what to do with your hands.
I will guide the small details throughout the appointment. That may mean adjusting how you hold your child, helping with your angle, showing you where to stand, or asking your family to walk or interact instead of holding one pose.
The direction is specific enough that you know what to do while still leaving room for natural expressions and interaction.
A $100 booking deposit reserves your session. The remaining balance is due on the day of the session. I’ll send an invoice reminder the day before, and all major credit cards are accepted.
