I’m based in Kirkland and work with families throughout Seattle, the Eastside, and Greater Seattle. Depending on the session you choose, you may come to my private Kirkland studio, meet me at an outdoor location selected for that session, or, for an in-home session, stay right at home.

How Session Location Works

Being within my service area does not necessarily mean your session takes place in your city. Where we photograph depends on what you book.

Kirkland Studio

If you book a session offered at my private studio, you’ll come to Kirkland for your session.

Curated Outdoor Locations

Outdoor sessions work a little differently. Some have a location set in advance, while others let you choose from curated Greater Seattle options. Season, light, access, and current conditions all help determine what is appropriate for a particular session.

For sessions designed to take place at home, I come to you. I travel to homes throughout my service area.

The Kirkland Studio

My private studio is in Kirkland, but you do not need to live in Kirkland to book a session there. The location is convenient for many families coming from Seattle, the Eastside, and surrounding Greater Seattle communities.

Free street parking is plentiful around the studio, so you do not need to plan for a parking garage or paid lot.

Curated Outdoor Locations Across Greater Seattle

Choosing an outdoor location is about more than finding somewhere beautiful. The same place can photograph very differently depending on the season, time of day, light, access, crowds, and current conditions.

A location can look wonderful in person and still be a poor fit if it involves a long walk, difficult parking, limited accessibility, or other practical challenges for the people being photographed.

That is why I work from a curated group of Greater Seattle outdoor locations rather than simply choosing a pretty park.

I pay attention to how the light works, what the landscape looks like at that time of year, how much walking is involved, parking and access, crowd levels, and how well the setting fits the people joining the session.

A location that works beautifully for one family may not be the right choice for a pregnant mom, a toddler, grandparents, or a larger family group.

I also consider the kind of setting you are drawn to—whether that is waterfront, open field, wooded, mountain, garden, urban, or something else. Just as important is how the location actually photographs, not simply how it looks when you visit it.

Some outdoor sessions, including Mini and seasonal sessions, have a location or location area already set as part of the offer.

For Outdoor Maternity Deluxe and Outdoor Family Deluxe sessions, you choose after booking from the curated Greater Seattle options available for your session.

If you are not sure which location would be the best fit, I can help narrow the choices based on the setting you prefer, who will be joining you, the season, and what will be practical for your family.

The options are not a static list. Foliage, blossoms, access, construction, crowds, and other conditions change, so I adjust the available choices when needed.

The goal isn’t simply to find beautiful scenery. It’s to choose a setting where the light, surroundings, and practical details all work together for the people I’m photographing.

Maternity Photography

Maternity sessions can take place outdoors or in a studio. Depending on what you choose, studio photography takes place at my private Kirkland studio or at a natural-light studio in downtown Seattle. Outdoor locations vary by the session you book.

Location Questions

Do you photograph families throughout the Greater Seattle area?

Yes. I work with families throughout Seattle, the Eastside, and Greater Seattle. The exact location of your session depends on the type of session you book.

Can we choose our outdoor photo location?

For Outdoor Maternity Deluxe and Outdoor Family Deluxe sessions, yes. You choose after booking from the curated Greater Seattle locations available for your session. Mini and seasonal sessions have a location or location area already selected as part of the offer.

Can we request a location that is meaningful to our family?

Yes. If there is a particular outdoor location that is meaningful to your family, send me a message and tell me what you have in mind. I’ll look at the location and let you know whether I can photograph your session there. If the location works, the session would need to be booked as an Outdoor Deluxe session.

What if we need help choosing an outdoor location?

I can help narrow the options. I’ll consider the kind of setting you prefer, the season, who will be joining you, and practical details such as walking, accessibility, and how the location will work for your family.

Are all outdoor locations available year-round?

No. Location options can change with the season, foliage and blossoms, access, and other current conditions. Some locations also work better at particular times of year.

Where do you travel for in-home newborn sessions?

I travel to homes throughout my service area for Newborn In-Home Lifestyle sessions. Travel within 25 miles of Kirkland is included. For homes farther than 25 miles away, an additional travel fee of $100–$200 may apply depending on the distance. The exact fee is determined and communicated after booking.
