Seattle Newborn Photography Portfolio
See four ways I photograph newborns, all with gentle posing, soft tones, natural-looking skin, and your baby at the center.
The galleries below range from carefully styled portraits of the baby alone to photographs centered on the connection between baby and family. The setting and amount of styling change, but the look stays consistent: light-filled photographs, natural-looking skin tones, warm, cohesive editing, and details that support your baby rather than compete for attention. That is what timeless means in my work: the styling is thoughtful, but your baby is still the first thing you notice, both now and years from now.
I’ve photographed Seattle-area newborns and growing families since 2008. That experience matters because newborn sessions rarely follow one exact plan. I adjust what we photograph and the flow of the session based on your baby, working with sleepy stretches, awake moments, feeding breaks, and the times your baby simply needs to be held.
Three of the four approaches take place in my private Kirkland studio. I carefully designed it to feel welcoming to families and cozy for newborn photographs, with each setup planned around the baby and the finished gallery. The fourth gallery shows how the same approach carries into a family’s home.

Newborn Studio Deluxe Session
This gallery shows the widest range of studio newborn work: wrapped and unwrapped portraits of your baby, each parent with the baby, siblings, the whole family, and the small details that change so quickly.
The styled portraits draw from a collection of thousands of premium newborn props that I have curated for well over a decade from professional makers around the world. Many pieces are handmade and sized specifically for newborn photography. During session prep, you choose the colors and examples you prefer, and I coordinate the wraps, blankets, bonnets, headbands, baskets, or other pieces for your session.

Baby In Your Arms Studio Session
In this gallery, your baby stays in your arms. There are no baby-alone prop setups. I create variety by changing who is in the frame, whether you are seated or standing, and how closely I photograph you. Small changes in expression and touch give the gallery even more range.
The simple studio setting keeps the attention on closeness, touch, and expression. This approach can also work well for awake babies and older newborns, up to 2 months old.

Newborn Studio Mini Wrapped Session
This gallery focuses on wrapped baby portraits. The Mini Wrapped session includes three setups within one color theme, so the photographs feel coordinated while still giving you variety.
The examples below come from many sessions, so you will see different blankets, baskets, bonnets, headbands, and other small props. Within one session, the colors and pieces are planned together.

Newborn In-Home Lifestyle Session
I photograph these sessions in the rooms where you already spend time with your baby—often the nursery, primary bedroom, or family room. Parents, siblings, pets, and details that are personal to your family can all be included.
The home gives the photographs context, but it does not need to be large, fully decorated, or ready from one end to the other. I choose the few areas that photograph best and frame each image so the attention stays on your baby and family, not the rest of the room. The baby is the star, not the house.
This approach can also work well for older newborns, up to 3 months old.
