Seattle & Eastside Classic Studio Holiday Mini-Sessions

Step into a cozy studio holiday scene where the light is soft, the setting is peaceful, and every smile and giggle becomes part of a story you’ll cherish long after the season ends.
My Kirkland studio transforms each year into a bright, timeless holiday set that celebrates connection over perfection. The design is simple, neutral, and elegant — so the focus stays on your family’s warmth, laughter, and togetherness.

Little ones light up the moment they see the cozy scene. I gently guide them (and you!) through a fun, relaxed session where genuine smiles unfold naturally. The result: portraits that don’t just look festive, but feel like home.

No matter what Seattle’s weather brings, you can count on a calm, comfortable studio experience. I’ll take care of every detail — from helping with outfit planning to keeping the session stress-free — so you can enjoy this moment with the people you love most.

Conveniently located in downtown Kirkland — just minutes from Bellevue, Redmond, and Seattle — the studio is a cozy retreat where families come to pause, reconnect, and create memories that will warm your walls long after the holidays are over.

FAQs

What should I expect from start to finish?

Here is an overview of the entire process and what you can expect when you book a family session with me:

  1. Pre-Booking: You begin by learning about my holiday session, so you have a clear understanding of the type of photos you can expect to receive if you work with me. I am a big believer in transparency and helpfulness. That’s why I explain my services in great detail on my website. I display my prices, add-ons, deliverables, and timeframes online so you know them beforehand, and there are no surprises. I have also published many photos above, so you can get a good feel for my style and know exactly what your photos will look like. And if you still have any questions before booking, I’m only a quick message away.
  2. Booking: I’ve designed my scheduling process to be fast and hassle-free, ensuring your ease. You start by heading to the booking page and selecting your desired session. Next, you will choose a date and time from my calendar, complete a short form, and pay a $100 deposit.
  3. Session Prep: After I receive your booking, I will review it and email you a detailed prep guide within 1-2 business days. This guide will contain all the necessary information to prepare for the session. I am also available to answer any questions via email or text. You will receive an invoice for the remaining balance a day before your session.
  4. The Session: We meet at my Kirkland studio and have a fun session. While I follow a specific session plan, I will adjust based on your baby’s mood. I will guide and queue you so you always know what to do.
  5. After the Session: You will receive your proof gallery within four days of your session to select the photos you want for hand-editing. After reviewing your proof gallery, you can decide on any upgrades. Please reply with your picks within seven days of receiving your gallery. After I receive your picks, I will deliver the final edited photos within seven days.
  6. Beyond the Session: I am grateful and honored that you’ve picked me to help capture your family’s memories. My mission is to help you create a collection of meaningful family photos through the years. I hope you will find my online resources and newsletter updates useful. You will also get priority access to all of my seasonal offerings.
Where is your studio located and which areas do you serve?

My studio is in Kirkland’s iconic Market Neighborhood, at 720 Market St Ste E, Kirkland, WA 98033 (Directions).

Families typically travel to me from across the greater Seattle area, including Bellevue, Kirkland, Redmond, Mercer Island, Sammamish, Issaquah, Renton, Bothell, Kenmore, Shoreline, and even Tacoma and Everett.

Is on-site parking available, and if so, is there a fee?

Yes. There is usually plenty of free street parking in front of and around the studio.

We are not good at taking pictures; will you guide us?

I will guide and direct your family the entire time, so you don’t have to worry about a thing. I aim for natural-looking poses while also capturing candids along the way.

What is the best way to dress for our session?

After completing your booking, you will receive an email with prep info and tips to help your family look their best for the session.

What if my kid doesn’t cooperate?

You don’t need a perfectly cooperative kid for beautiful photos. I’ll follow their lead, keep things light, and use prompts that encourage real connection (not forced smiles).

There’s never pressure for everyone to stare at the camera the whole time. And, yes, I have a long list of kid-approved tricks that work far more often than they should.

Do you offer outdoor holiday sessions?

Absolutely! I also photograph holiday sessions at a Christmas tree farm. Surrounded by rows of evergreens, these outdoor sessions create a festive, natural backdrop and capture that classic holiday feel in the fresh air.

Will I get my images in time to print holiday cards?

If you plan on using your photos to print holiday cards, I recommend booking your session earlier in the season. Usually, printing companies stop taking orders for Christmas deadlines around the first week of December. So I would recommend booking your session no later than the first week of November.

What if someone is sick – can we reschedule?

Yes. Life happens, especially with kids. If someone wakes up sick, please reach out as soon as possible, and we’ll find the next available option.

When and how do I pay?

Payments are made by credit card. A $100 deposit is required to book your session. The remaining balance is due by the session date (you’ll receive an invoice reminder the day before). Proof galleries are delivered once payment is complete.

Can I buy additional images?

Your holiday session includes 10 hand-edited images. If you would like to purchase additional hand-edited images, they are available for $20 each. Information on purchasing additional images will be included with your online proof gallery.

Additionally, an entire gallery upgrade is available for $200. It includes all the images in your proof gallery with a standard color edit (as they appear in your proof gallery, no hand-editing). Photos will be in high resolution with print rights.

When and how will I get my images?

The proof gallery is delivered within 4 days of your session. Your selections are due within 7 days of receiving your proof gallery. Final hand-edited images are delivered within 7 days after you submit your picks.

If you purchase the full gallery upgrade, you’ll receive the download link within 48 hours of payment.

Color edit vs. hand-edit: what’s the difference?

Color edit is the polished, natural look you see in your proof gallery—overall color and exposure refinements for a cohesive result.

Hand-edit (retouching) includes gentle skin smoothing, removing temporary blemishes/bruises, taming flyaways, and more detailed finishing touches—while still keeping everyone looking natural.
